The Transition Year class of 2021 graduated on Wednesday 12th May. It was a wonderful celebration and attended by all students.TY Awards 2021Student ReflectionSo here we are , the end of TY 234 days later. Not the year expected with majority of entertainment coming from Kahoot and terrible documentaries rather than trips and workshops but the trips we could have I think we did make the most of. The year began with a trip to CP adventure park in Wicklow. We were split into many groups and began different activities. This included, archery, a high walk , creating a shelter , a dangerously old zip line and rock climbing with a twist , that twist unfortunately for climbers being bottled filled with rocks found on the floor which you can understand the use of .It was definitely one of the highlights of 4th year and a great trip and enjoyed by everyone in our year. Another great highlight of the year was the NFTE trade fair. This fair is an exciting time as everyone is putting in hard work towards their businesses… well, nearly everyone. It was great to see everyone’s uniqueness not only with their products but with their stalls too. Mr Ardiff and all teachers involved did a fantastic job decorating the yard for the first outdoor market. It was also a great achievement for Chanel as Gerald O’ Regan Will represent the school and Ireland in Switzerland at the national NFTE finals. We also had a few in school workshops such as the forensics workshop , a film making workshop and of course the dreaded 2 hour online physics workshop. Another workshop we did was the Poetry Slam . This workshop was led by a very eccentric presenter. He was charismatic and engaging. He easily carried the whole workshop. The stories he told were very funny and he had a very interesting life. I don’t enjoy poetry that much like realistically 90% of this room and to be honest I still don’t exactly like it, but the task at the end of the workshop was actually fun. The poems were published on his website too. Most people believed this was the best workshop. Although the year didn’t go as planned and inevitably wasn’t as good as it could’ve been I think most of us can agree it was not too bad at all and just having company there can make anything enjoyable even watching boring documentaries. Now onto 5th year. Thank you Click HERE for a link to TY PHOTOS 2021
